Discover New York City with AphroChic
Summer might be in the rearview mirror, but the anticipation of a fabulous fall has our excitement antennas piqued! In that spirit, we teamed up with our friends Jeanine Hays and Bryan Mason of AphroChic for a tour of some of their favorite fall hotspots in arguably the chicest city around.
|It's our go-to Manhattan spot. You can pop in at any time, the design is beautiful and there is not one bad dish. For fall, they have the most amazing fried chicken dish. It makes you feel warm and cozy inside and it comes with a creamy side of grits. It's a reminder of childhood. Side Note: The Parker & Quinn is another favorite. It has a cool speakeasy feel to it and one of the best burgers in town.||
It's all about the romance and beauty in this collective space where we love to wind down the night. While we're there, we always end up peeking around the adjoining shop, Roman & Williams Guild, for design inspiration. At the end of the evening, you can leave with a bouquet of flowers from Emily Thompson Flowers, who's shop is right inside. We love to end an evening there with a cup of Long Needle Green or African Red Rooibos tea.
We stayed at the hotel once before moving to New York and it was an experience. There’s luxury in every moment, from beds upholstered in buttery leather, to deep soaking claw foot tubs. It’s the epitome of Manhattan luxury.
Fall is a time for us to embrace fashion, art and music. It's the time of year when the most compelling cultural shows are released. The shows we'll check out this NYFW include: Studio 189, Jonathan Simkhai, Lorto Momolu. All of these designers inspire us. There is an energy to their work. Other things we're looking forward to this fall: The JR exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum, The Affordable Art Fair where we go to explore emerging artists and we're looking forward to the Miles Davis: Birth of the Cool documentary that will be in theaters in September 2019.
